My Journey: Staying Committed to Workout and Healthy Eating Over the Past Few Days
.
On Friday, we ran into car troubles and didn’t manage to work out at all, but we did enjoy one healthy meal, veggie scrambled eggs for lunch. Saturday and Sunday are our rest days since the kids are home. I spent most of the weekend redesigning my business website.
Yesterday, we got back on track by walking on the treadmill for almost 40 minutes. Dinner wasn’t the healthiest—tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwiches—but we enhanced the soup with onions, grated carrots, and a touch of rice.
Today, we spent a little over half an hour on the treadmill. Tonight’s dinner wasn’t the healthiest—we had hotdogs, lol. Getting back into a workout and healthy eating routine is a gradual process for us, but we’re making progress and truly appreciate everyone’s support along the way.
Quitting smoking will undoubtedly be the longest and most challenging journey for me. Change doesn’t happen overnight; it’s a process. But I am confident that I will succeed!
I use Map My Run to track my treadmill walks and runs, and I rely on my Fitbit to monitor my daily steps. I used to consistently reach over 20,000 steps a day, and my goal is to return to that level. For calorie tracking, I depend on MyFitnessPal. Although I’m not aiming to lose a significant amount of weight—about 10 pounds—I want to avoid gaining any more, especially since I’ve gained around 20 pounds over the past nine years.
I will try to post all of my walks/runs on Pinterest and Instagram
